Feng Shui IQ Inc. ("we," "us") runs FengShuiIQ.com and the ProperQi™ Score. This page explains, in plain language, what information we collect when you use it, why, who we share it with, and what choices you have. If something here is unclear, email contact@fengshuiiq.com and we'll clarify or fix it.
The short version
Scoring an address is free and doesn't require an account. We only collect an email address if you choose to email yourself a report, purchase the Expanded tier, or create a My Addresses account. We never sell your personal information, and we don't share your email, saved addresses, or account data with third parties for their own marketing or advertising.
What we collect
Address searches
When you paste an address, we send it (and the coordinates it geocodes to) to the map/data providers listed below to compute your ProperQi™ Score. This is the address you typed, not personal information about you -- we don't know or ask whether it's your own home.
Anonymous device identifier
The first time you visit, we generate a random ID and store it in your browser's local storage (not a tracking cookie shared across sites). It's sent along with score requests purely for our own usage logging -- understanding how the tool is used -- and is never required for scoring itself, which stays free regardless.
Email address
We only ever collect an email address when you take one of these specific actions:
- Using "Email me this report" on a scored address
- Purchasing the $4.99 Expanded tier for an address
- Creating a My Addresses account (magic-link sign-in)
- Requesting early access to a not-yet-launched tier
Saved addresses & account data
If you create a My Addresses account, we store the addresses you choose to save (up to 2 on a free account, more once you've unlocked a report), your email, and which paid tiers you've unlocked for each one -- so you can come back to them from any device.
Payment information
Payments are processed entirely by Stripe. We never see, receive, or store your card number -- only a Stripe-issued confirmation that a payment completed, which address and tier it was for, and the amount.
Server & usage logs
Like any web service, our hosting provider (Vercel) keeps standard technical logs (timestamps, error traces, request counts) to keep the service running and to diagnose bugs. These aren't used to build a profile of you.
How we use it
- To calculate and display your ProperQi™ Score
- To send a requested report, receipt, or sign-in link to your email
- To remember your saved addresses and paid unlocks if you have a My Addresses account
- To understand aggregate usage patterns and improve the service
- To detect, prevent, and fix technical problems and abuse
Who we share it with
We use the following outside services to run Feng Shui IQ -- meaning we're the one sending them data. Each one only ever receives the minimum information it needs to do its specific job -- almost always just an address or coordinates, not your identity. (This is different from the outbound links covered in "Links to other services" below, where you leave our site entirely and deal with that company directly.)
- Google (Places Autocomplete & Geocoding) -- turns the address you type into map coordinates
- Mapbox -- map tiles and nearby-feature data (water, green space, hazards, schools)
- OpenStreetMap contributors, via the public Overpass API -- road and map data
- USGS (U.S. Geological Survey) -- public elevation and water-flow data
- Regrid -- property parcel boundary data (Expanded tier only)
- Stripe -- payment processing for the $4.99 Expanded tier
- Supabase -- database hosting, account storage, and magic-link sign-in
- Resend -- delivering emailed reports and receipts
- Vercel -- application hosting
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share your email, saved addresses, or account data with any of these -- or anyone else -- for their own marketing or advertising purposes. We don't currently use any user-submitted data to train AI models.
Links to other services (like CubiCasa)
Our pricing page and floor-plan tools link out to CubiCasa as a free way to scan a floor plan if you don't already have one. CubiCasa is an independent company -- unaffiliated with Feng Shui IQ Inc.. We don't send them any of your information, and we don't receive anything back from them either, unless you separately choose to upload a floor plan you obtained through them into our own tool.
Once you click through to CubiCasa's site (or any other outside link on this site), your use of that service is governed entirely by its own privacy policy and terms, not this one. We have no visibility into or control over how they collect, use, or store your data, and we'd encourage you to read their policy directly before using their tool.
Cookies & local storage
We use your browser's local storage for your anonymous device identifier and, if you sign in, your account session. We don't use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Your choices & data retention
You can remove any saved address from your My Addresses panel at any time. To delete your account entirely, or to request a copy or deletion of any personal data we hold about you, email contact@fengshuiiq.com and we'll handle it directly.
Children's privacy
Feng Shui IQ isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this policy
If we make a meaningful change to how we handle your data, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the service after a change means you accept the update.
